Disney’s Hot New Project is… The Rocketeer?

Have you been waiting anxiously for another Rocketeer movie? Neither have we, but Disney is convinced that the time is right for another attempt at adapting the popular comic book—their 1991 version, starring Jennifer Connelly, Billy Campbell, and Timothy Dalton received decent reviews but flopped hard at the box office. Perhaps the extraordinary success of Iron Man and The Avengers has gotten Disney addicted to rocket-powered superheroes in red-and-gold suits?

Previous failure aside, the concept still sounds fun: a guy dresses up in an art deco superhero suit, straps on a jetpack, and fights Nazis. Let’s hope that this time Disney can get it right and blow us away, rather than producing another disappointment.
